Historical Literature Project

We are in the early stages of our historical literature  project.  This is a joint project between Social Studies and Language Arts.  Students are reading a novel that has some sort of historical basis and making real connections to the text.  They are searching for historical, literary, psychological and illustrative clues throughout the text.   Students are given the opportunity to read and analyse the text in both classes.  The project will culminate with students putting on a performance in front of their peers.  Students will act out an important scene or dramatic part from their novel and demonstrate a greater understanding of the written work.  We intend to turn the performance into a movie for the whole team to watch and enjoy.
